Regional Platters
Connecting our products with people
July 25 was the launch of the 2018 Regional Platters Guide - a booklet that showcases the paddock-to-plate production that exists in the Orana Region. This guide is a celebration of the food providence movement. Its aim is to meet the increased consumer demand for peoples' appetite for single source food and a knowledge of their producers. In doing so, local Shire Councils have clustered together a whole host of businesses which will meet a broad range of environmental, ethical and nutritional appetites.
On the same day as this guide was launched a group of these producers competed for a share in $25k prizemoney by presenting a pitch that showcased how they would grow or develop their businesses with a $10k cash injection.
I'm proud to say that Outback Lamb was part of the winning presentation!
We collaborated with The Gourmet Goat Lady and Farmer Brown's Pastured Eggs to form a company "3 Farmers Freight" which will be a logistics operation to transport fresh produce from this area. Not only were we successful in winning the overall prize, we were also won the People's Choice award for our presentation.
